Change You Choose
In my late 50’s I start to value structure – and discipline.
Being a free spirit, discipline is not one of my strengths, and growing up in Switzerland did not help, either.
By the time I was 23 I had to break out. Lifelong commitment was not on my list of things to do.
Instead, I went on a spiritual journey. Focused on consciousness.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s three months since I jumped on a plane to Switzerland to be with my mother when she was dying.
Throughout this intense flight I was nervous and not really in my body – and it was amazing at the same time.
Walking in the mountains of my youth.
Quickly falling into the rhythm known from childhood onwards.
Suddenly – present in the here and now,
No-mind happens.
Feeling physical relaxation at the back of the scull – the location of the limbic brain.
A bit higher up the mountain the terrain gets rocky and more difficult.
Every culture has their sacred songs – universal and yet unique to each.
They’re powerful and striking.
However, not every tradition is as unique as a group of Aboriginal women from the Central Desert of Australia.
